Dance and Aerial Studios
dna studios is Canberra’s first Dance and Aerial Studio. This exciting new premises, is designed to provide a safe and nurturing place to learn dance as well as aerial application. dna‘s vision is to make dance and theatre practice available to the Canberra and regional community that is exciting, educated and relative to the needs and desires of today’s industry.
The studios are run by qualified & recognised staff lead by artistic director Janine Ayres - Royal Academy of Dance, Teaching Certificate Distinction (RAD’s main headquarters are situated in London) and Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) Melbourne Post Grad Dip Choreography. Janine has recruited Vivien Pinder (RAD teaching Diploma) and local emerging dancer Elizabeth Webb, who studied under the tutorage of Janine 2004; 2005.
Summer School Program 23 -27 January 8:30am to 6pm - the dna studios program is unique in that it brings together 3 very different genres of performing, Dance, Drama, Aerial.
Over the past 5 - 10 years aerial skills have become a much sought after skill for performers young and old within Australia. Interstate companies such as “Legs on the Wall”, “Meryl Tankard” and “Australian Dance Theatre” (ADT), have all utilized aerial applications in their Dance / Physical Theatre performances
Open Day on 28 January 10am - 4pm
The Gorman House studios will be open to the public to explore and between 12 – 2 people will have the rare opportunity to be able to watch the aerial dance theatre company in rehearsal.
Free Trial Classes on 29 January 11am - 4pm
Ballet 4 -6yrs, 7 -10yrs, 10yrs – older, Adult
Jazz 6 - 8yrs, 8 -12yrs
